Cleveland couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Hawks on Friday. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Centennial had a senior duo take command as Zaiden Davis rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns and Jordan Lucas gained 157 total yards and a touchdown. Lucas got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of65 yards.
Cleveland will face off against Los Lunas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they will square off against Atrisco Heritage Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Centennial is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
