Despite the defeat, Everton saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Sartin almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Makiya Heim, who scored six points.
McAuley Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Everton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
McAuley Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Golden City at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Everton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hurley at 5:30 p.m.
