District 10 Region 1 A recap November 19, 2013
Sharpsville moved up to 171 from 293 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in District 10 Region 1 A. The Blue Devils were able to move up by beating West Middlesex 40-3.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Lakeview beat Mercer 52-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
The Big Reds' Trey Staunch and Dillon Fair led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Staunch has thrown for 1,236 yards this season, while Fair has 39 catches for 458 yards. Blake Reddick from Lakeview leads the league in rushing with 2,439 yards.
An important game coming up in District 10 Region 1 A this week will be when Sharpsville takes on Dan York's team. At the moment, Paul Piccirilli's team is in third, while the Sailors are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Blue Devils take on Lakeview. Sharpsville has allowed 112 points this season, while the Sailors have given up 93.
West Middlesex lost to the Blue Devils 40-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
