The Stockbridge Tigers will be playing at home against the McDonough Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Stockbridge's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
Stockbridge can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Everything went their way against Pace Academy as Stockbridge made off with a 31-7 victory. Given Stockbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Pace Academy is ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jayden "duke" Scott, who rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Scott hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for nine straight games.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but McDonough had to settle for a 30-28 loss against Luella on Friday.
Despite the loss, McDonough got a solid performance out of Terrell Riley, who rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Riley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Launtae Dewberry jr, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Stockbridge's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36 points. As for McDonough, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Stockbridge took their win against McDonough in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 32-8. Does Stockbridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will McDonough turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
