Baseball Recap: Lima Senior Has No Trouble Against Woodward

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincolnview, Lima Senior was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Woodward Polar Bears with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Polar Bears: they've now won five in a row.

Ja'Irus Wash was a standout: he got on base in both of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Miller, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Lima Senior's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Woodward, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Lima Senior will head out to square off against Waite at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.18 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Woodward, they will square off against Bowsher at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The BlueRacers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Polar Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
