After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Flatonia, the Louise Hornets were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They snuck past Schulenburg with a 40-36 win. This was payback for Louise, who suffered a 57-24 loss the last time these two teams met.
Hannah Ochoa was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Monica Montes, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Schulenburg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaylee Beyer. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with five rebounds. Beyer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Arianna Vincent, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Schulenburg were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 15 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Louise's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Schulenburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
