After flying high against the Antioch Christian Academy Gators last Monday, the Mintz Christian Academy Lions came back down to earth. Mintz Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 58-57 to the Cougars. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Joseph Lemmon was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points for Cornerstone Christian Academy. Lemmon is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Jaylen Bennett was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mintz Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mintz Christian Academy will take on the Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Antioch Christian Academy and the Lions are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st. Temple Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
