The Clearfield Falcons entered their tilt with the Roy Royals with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Clearfield walked away with a 44-33 victory over Roy on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Clearfield also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Clearfield found their leader in underclassman Isabelle Wyaskett, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Wyaskett is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jayla Kearns was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Roy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nicole Williams. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Clearfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Roy, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Clearfield will take on Bountiful at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Bountiful will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Clearfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Woods Cross at 5:15 p.m.
