The Sparrows Point Pointers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 84-30 loss at the hands of Pikesville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sparrows Point in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.
Pikesville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bree Taylor, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Mariah Jones-Bey was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Sparrows Point dropped their record down to 10-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pikesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Sparrows Point will head out on the road to challenge the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Overlea has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Pikesville, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Flowers will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
