The Obion County Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Melrose Golden Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Obion County got the win against Craigmont by a conclusive 28-8.
Meanwhile, Melrose entered their tilt with Millington Central with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Melrose blew past Millington Central 45-10 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Melrose just coasted through the last quarter.
It was another big night for Rhyan Brown, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Brown's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Joe Williams also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
Obion County's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Melrose, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Obion County beat Melrose 42-32 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Obion County repeat their success, or does Melrose have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
