Meanwhile, Box Elder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Northridge, falling 16-10. Clearfield's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Box Elder, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Box Elder's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clearfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Box Elder, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain Clearfield's hitters?
