Robert C. Byrd took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Doddridge County with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Robert C. Byrd never let Doddridge County on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11, 26-24.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Robert C. Byrd to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan Hawkins, who had four blocks and four aces. That's the most blocks Hawkins has posted since back in September of 2024. Madelyn McGill was another key player, getting seven kills, four aces, and one block.
Meanwhile, Elkins got the win against Pendleton County on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted against the Wildcat since October 20, 2021.
Elkins walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 25-15.
Robert C. Byrd's victory bumped their record up to 13-15. As for Elkins, they now have a winning record of 19-18-1.
Robert C. Byrd might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Elkins in their previous matchup on October 7th. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
