HAGERSTOWN, Md. - the Hubs scored 28 points in the first quarter to secure a big 41-2 victory over Smithsburg (Md.) on Saturday.
North Hagerstown scored on a touchdown pass by
Nick Karlen to
Isaiah Keyes, a
Calvin Bembry touchdown run, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown run by Keyes in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Karlen touchdown pass to Keyes in the first quarter, NH led 41-0 at the half.
A 28-point first quarter set the table for the Hagerstown school, who coasted the rest of the way for the victory.
Coming into the game the Hubs had allowed 20.4 points per game this year.
The win was a nice bounce back for North Hagerstown, which lost to Catoctin last week, 35-13.
North Hagerstown (5-3) goes up against Brunswick in a Monocacy Valley - Antietam game matchup next week, while Smithsburg (1-7) locks horns with Catoctin also in a Monocacy Valley - Antietam game.
