Solon extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 4-6 in the process. Everything went their way against the Nordonia Knights as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Comets have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Grace Gerhard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Ali Palsa was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Claire Bush, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Solon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solon will head out to face off against North Royalton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nordonia, they will venture away from home to challenge Mayfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
