After a string of three wins, the Carvers Bay Bears's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Philip Simmons.
Carvers Bay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jasmyn Jenkins, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerchel Geathers-Washington, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Carvers Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Philip Simmons, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.
Carvers Bay will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Loris at 4:30 p.m. Philip Simmons won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against North Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. North Charleston is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
