The Frontenac Raiders will face off against the Holton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frontenac will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Frontenac walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Burlington 15-12.
Wellsville typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Holton proved too difficult a challenge. Holton walked away with a 21-13 win over Wellsville. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Holton was the (much) better team in the second half.
It was another big night for Abbott Hundley, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown. Hundley hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Cael Frazier also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Frontenac to 9-1 and Holton to 6-4.
Frontenac strolled past Holton in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 by a score of 32-13. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frontenac since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
