The Stevens Falcons suffered their biggest defeat since November 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Sotomayor at home and fell 74-36. Stevens was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-17.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mya Guzman, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giana Monda, who scored ten points.
Stevens has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Sotomayor, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Holmes the next time they take the court. Stevens will head out to face Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sotomayor will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
