Grandview Heights extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 7-5 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Bishop Ready Silver Knights. Considering the Bobcats have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mitchell Hahn made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hahn was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Grandview Heights let Zach Loy and Grant Gambone run wild. Loy went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Gambone went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Loy has become a key player for Grandview Heights: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kinny Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Grandview Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
As for Bishop Ready, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since March 28th.
On Bishop Ready's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Reeder, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. AJ Caputo also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grandview Heights will venture away from home to square off against Centerburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop Ready, they will head out to challenge Dublin Scioto at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
