Larimore has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Larimore posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cavalier 58-56.
Larimore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Myers, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. Myers has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Collison, who scored 21 points.
Meanwhile, Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Hatton/Northwood by a score of 60-50.
Larimore pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Benson County [Leeds/Maddock], their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Larimore barely slipped by Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 52-51. Does Larimore have another victory up their sleeve, or will Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
