This season hasn't been kind to the Chesterfield Golden Rams, who are still winless after their fourth game. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of McBee on Monday. While losing is never fun, Chesterfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while McBee is ranked 106th).
Leading McBee to victory were Jakari Holloman and Darrell Harper. Holloman dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Harper scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Harper has scored at least 25% of McBee's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasson Brockington, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds.
Chesterfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for McBee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesterfield will square off against Great Falls at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McBee, they will head out on the road to face off against Cheraw at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Cheraw comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
