While Tesoro didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Anaheim Colonists, posting a 34-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Tesoro found their leader in sophomore Chloe Gillis, who threw for 356 yards and four TDs. Those 356 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Gillis. Ella Parker was in the mix as well, providing Tesoro with two touchdowns.
One reason for the win was Tesoro's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Kayla Siebold was especially locked on to Anaheim's QB and sacked her twice.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Tesoro, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points over those games. As for Anaheim, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Coming up, Tesoro will square off against JSerra Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 3.9 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
