Conneaut has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Edgewood Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Conneaut will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 460th, while Edgewood is ranked 101st).
On Wednesday, Conneaut didn't have too much trouble with Lakeside at home as they won 52-34.
Conneaut got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayla Farley out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Alexis Kiser was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Madison typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Edgewood proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Blue Streaks by a score of 58-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for Edgewood.
Conneaut's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Conneaut came up short against Edgewood in their previous meeting back in January, falling 46-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Edgewood's Mckenna Vencill, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Now that Conneaut knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
