On Friday, Worthington Christian took a serious blow against Ironton, falling 56-6. Worthington Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-0.
Ironton was led to victory by Brayden Schreck and Shaun Terry. Schreck threw for 84 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes, while Terry gained 109 total yards and three touchdowns. Terry was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Worthington Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Columbus Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.7% over those games). As for Ironton, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Worthington Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ironton will take on Heath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heath is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
