The Middle Township Panthers came tearing into Saturday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 74-56 win over Camden Catholic. Given Middle Township's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 53rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Middle Township was led to victory by Anthony Trombetta and Jamir McNeil. Trombetta scored 21 points along with three steals, while McNeil scored 16 points along with seven assists and two steals. McNeil has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Bubba McNeil was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Middle Township pushed their record up to 20-2 with that victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Camden Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
Middle Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Camden Catholic will head out on the road to square off against the Red Raiders on Tuesday.
