Volleyball Recap: Lincoln's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lincoln came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Springfield Senators by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Railsplitters have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Senators, too.

While Lincoln won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20.

Makia Hassebrock paced Lincoln's offense, picking up nine kills. Hassebrock got some help from Lauren Tedrick and her 20 assists. Finally, Jocelyn Perkins kept Lincoln's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Quincy Notre Dame on the 12th. As for Springfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Triad on the 11th.
