The Winters Warriors managed to keep up with the Colusa RedHawks until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Winters' rough 60-36 defeat to Colusa might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winters in their matchups with Colusa: they've now lost nine in a row.
Leading Colusa to victory were Isaiah Travis and Landon Humphrey. Travis scored eight points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Humphrey scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Humphrey, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Winters' loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Colusa, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winters will take on Willows at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Willows is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Colusa, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Live Oak has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
