Oxford Academy is 0-10 against Cerritos since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Dons at 3:15 p.m. Oxford Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Oxford Academy beat Portola 13-9. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Oxford Academy let Mia Sierra and Xiomara Martinez run wild. Sierra scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Martinez went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Sierra posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ava Pitts, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Cerritos' good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against Gahr, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Dons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cerritos' loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Oxford Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oxford Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cerritos struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Oxford Academy couldn't quite get it done against Cerritos when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
