After a string of five wins, The Springtown Porcupines''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Decatur 23-17. Springtown lost against Decatur in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-6 score last time.
Hudson Hulett rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Drake Doggett rushed for 85 yards.
Leading Decatur to victory were Jed Ross and Nate palmer. Ross only threw for 150 passing yards and no touchdowns, while palmer rushed for 135 yards. Palmer is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Springtown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Decatur, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Springtown will head out on the road to face off against Burkburnett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burkburnett will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Decatur, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mineral Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mineral Wells is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
