The Crosby Bulldogs had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 68-56 victory over Naugatuck on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Micah Blackman was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Ellis, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Crosby's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Naugatuck, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Crosby will be home for the holidays to greet Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Naugatuck, they will head out on the road to face off against Waterbury Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterbury Career Academy and Naugatuck are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
