The Sneads Pirates lost against the Maclay Marauders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sneads fell 44-37 to Maclay. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sneads in their matchups with Maclay: they've now lost four in a row.
Sneads' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabby Bellamy, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carrington Scott, who scored 8 points.
Among those leading the charge was Journey Kramer, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Aleeza Moore, who scored 12 points.
Sneads now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Maclay, they have yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-1 record.
Sneads will take on Liberty County at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty County's defense has only allowed 20.2 points per game this season, so Sneads' offense will have their work cut out for Sneads. As for Maclay, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wewahitchka at 6:00 p.m. Wewahitchka comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
