The Sparrows Point Pointers will head out on the road to face off against the Owings Mills Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sparrows Point will be strutting in after a victory while Owings Mills will be coming in after a defeat.
Sparrows Point had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past Carver A&T with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 51-33.
Meanwhile, Owings Mills was beaten by Wilde Lake 81-35 on Monday. Owings Mills was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.
Despite the loss, Owings Mills got a solid performance out of Marcus Nelson, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Owings Mills struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Sparrows Point's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Owings Mills, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Sparrows Point was able to grind out a solid win over Owings Mills in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, winning 72-64. Does Sparrows Point have another victory up their sleeve, or will Owings Mills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
