The Bishop Verot Vikings typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 46-32 win over the Vikings. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Seacrest Country Day also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Seacrest Country Day was led to victory by Madison D'Elia and Ty'Nazia Smith. D'Elia scored 11 points along with four steals, while Smith scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Dragana ?cepanovic, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Bishop Verot saw an underclassman step up: Caroline Ward scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ambrielle Calixte was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Seacrest Country Day is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Bishop Verot, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seacrest Country Day will take on Fort Myers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Myers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Seacrest Country Day is ranked 82nd). As for Bishop Verot, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gateway Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gateway Charter is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
