The Commerce Tigers entered their tilt with the Franklin County Lions with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Commerce blew past Franklin County 66-45. This was payback for Commerce, who suffered a 44-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Malay Mitchell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Commerce's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Collins, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Commerce's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Franklin County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Commerce will take on Banks County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County and Seneca will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Seneca focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday.
