The Miami Christian Victors pushed their score all the way to 74 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 85-74 to Calusa Prep. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (69), Miami Christian still had to take the loss.
Several Victors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Bravo, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Gonzalez, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Miami Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Calusa Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-10.
Miami Christian will head out on the road to challenge Florida Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Florida Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Miami Christian in Florida (Florida Christian is ranked 98th, while Miami Christian is ranked 274th). Calusa Prep will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Horeb Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
