Last Sunday, Harvest Prep didn't have too much trouble with Springfield at home as they won 68-53.
Harvest Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but London Foggie led the charge by scoring 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Sims, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Floyd Central pushed their score all the way to 72 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Lyon County at home and fell 110-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (68), Floyd Central still had to take the loss.
Defeat or not, Floyd Central got some senior leadership from Ronnie Samons who scored 22 points and Braden Moore who scored 18 points along with six assists. The game was Samons' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Brody Buck was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Even though they lost, Floyd Central were working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Harvest Prep pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.4 points. As for Floyd Central, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Harvest Prep and Floyd Central are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Harvest Prep hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 74.8 points per game. However, it's not like Floyd Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 70.4 points per game.
