Yuma had to endure  a  five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a  set and slipped past the Akron Rams  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Outlaws have posted  since October 18, 2024.
 Yuma wouldn't go down easily and took Akron into a fifth set  where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-17,  15-8.
 Lauren Gonzales paced Yuma's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gonzales got some help from  Bailey Nighswonger and her 24 assists. Nighswonger was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with four aces.
Yuma picked up their first road  victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Akron, their loss was  their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Coming up, Yuma will welcome Forge Christian  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Akron, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  3-2  win against Lone Star on the 17th.
