Northside received a tough blow as they fell 68-51 to Jones County. Northside has struggled against Jones County recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Northside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chastan Brown, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Keron Milton Jr., who scored 16 points.
Jones County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rudy Bowen led the charge by scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Jaleel Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Northside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jones County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will take on Bleckley County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bleckley County and Northside are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Jones County, they will be playing at home against Warner Robins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Warner Robins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Jones County likes a good challenge.
