Geneseo is a perfect 8-0 against Orion since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Geneseo will be playing at home against Orion at 10:00 a.m. Orion took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Geneseo, who comes in off a win.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Geneseo and Princeton meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Geneseo walked away with a 13-10 victory over Princeton. The Maple Leafs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kendyl Wassenhove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and nine unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Lillian Brown was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kolby Causemaker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Geneseo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Orion had taken Alleman down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. Orion lost 19-3 to Alleman. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lainey Kunert made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Geneseo's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Orion, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Geneseo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Orion struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Geneseo's way against Orion in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Geneseo made off with an 11-1 victory. Will Geneseo repeat their success, or does Orion has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
