Having just played yesterday, the Beaumont Cougars will jump right back in to play the Mater Dei Monarchs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Beaumont is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
On Wednesday, Beaumont was able to grind out a solid win over Indian Hill, taking the game 60-50.
Payton Joseph continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Josiah Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Mater Dei has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 95-65 victory over Hoover. Winning may never get old, but Mater Dei sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Dei to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Verna, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The match was Verna's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Benjamin, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Beaumont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Mater Dei, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
