The Scarborough Spartans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Furr, falling 54-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Scarborough in their matchups with Furr: they've now lost four in a row.
Furr can attribute much of their success to Darrius Garland, who rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronald Jacobs, who rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Scarborough's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.0 points per game. As for Furr, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Scarborough will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Washington comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Furr, they will be playing at home against Kashmere at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
