There's no place like home for the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 63-51 victory over Wilson Central on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Stewarts Creek, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Camden Ward continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brea Vann, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Wilson Central saw an underclassman step up: Brylee Fly scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Fly is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Evert, who scored 13 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Stewarts Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Wilson Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stewarts Creek will face off against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. LaVergne has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27. As for Wilson Central, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Smyrna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Wildcats are ranked 115th).
