Pharr-San Juan-Alamo is 8-2 against Economedes since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears will look to defend their home court against the Economedes Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will be strutting in after a win while Economedes will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo beat Edinburg North 39-34.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pharr-San Juan-Alamo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rebeca Tinoco, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackie Molina, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Economedes' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 41-21 loss at the hands of La Joya. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Economedes has suffered since December 1, 2023.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Economedes struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo's victory bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Economedes, they bumped their record down to 7-15 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo beat Economedes 43-31 in their previous meeting on January 5th. Does Pharr-San Juan-Alamo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Economedes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
