The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Haysville Campus in their matchups with South: they've now lost nine in a row.
Haysville Campus' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madilyn Harris, who scored seven points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Wood, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Haysville Campus struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South posted 14 assists.
South was led to victory by Tamia Cheeks and Paityn Fritz. Cheeks scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Fritz dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Cheeks has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Brylee Moss was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Haysville Campus' loss was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for South, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
