Chalker hasn't had much luck against Mathews recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will face off against the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Chalker 3.6, Mathews 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Chalker is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand St. John a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Tatum Hudak made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Morgan Strock and Riley Ashcraft did most of the damage at the plate: Strock went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Ashcraft got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Strock has posted since back in April. Kelsey Kren was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Chalker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Mathews' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of LaBrae by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.
Chalker is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mathews, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-5.
Chalker came up short against Mathews in their previous meeting back in April, falling 4-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
