Urbana won the last time they faced Rantoul and things went their way on Saturday too. The Urbana Tigers snuck past the Rantoul Eagles with a 60-55 victory.

Urbana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen McElmurry led the charge by putting up 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which McElmurry has scored at least a third of Urbana's points. Another player making a difference was Jesse Mfwamba, who posted 15 points.

Urbana's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Rantoul, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Urbana will welcome Richwoods at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richwoods knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Urbana likes a good challenge. As for Rantoul, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bloomington Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Bloomington Central Catholic will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Rantoul surely won't give up without a fight.
