Fair Haven is 1-9 against Otter Valley since June of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Slaters will host the Otters at 4:30 p.m. Fair Haven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Fair Haven barely beat Windsor the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Slaters were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Yellowjackets on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Slaters as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Tori Raymond made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Raymond was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianna Gebo, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Amelia Munger, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Otter Valley faced Hartford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Otters won by a run and slipped past the Hurricanes 7-6. The victory was nothing new for the Otters as they're now sitting on six straight.
Like Fair Haven, Otter Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophie Parker. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Parker a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Parker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Michelle Hendee, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Hendee has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Fair Haven's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Otter Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fair Haven has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Otter Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fair Haven couldn't quite finish off Otter Valley when the teams last played back in April and fell 10-8. Will the Slaters have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
