League recap: Clearwater Central Catholic climbs in state rankings with win

Clearwater Central Catholic moved up to 45 from 74 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A District 5.

Tampa Catholic led the league in scoring this week after putting up 37 points on Northeast.

Berkeley Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Buccaneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brad Mayes has thrown for 763 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Bubba Olivera has 17 catches for 441 yards. Chris Williams leads the league in rushing with 841 yards.

A big matchup in 3A District 5 this week will be when Berkeley Prep takes on the Marauders. At the moment, the Buccaneers are in first, while Clearwater Central Catholic is in third.
