The Campbell County Cougars will take on the Oneida Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Campbell County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 3rd.
Campbell County's last matchup with Oak Ridge could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Cougars lost 15-2 to the Wildcats.
Jenna Pinkston made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Oneida gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 24-14 margin over McCreary Central. Considering the Indians have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Maddie Pike was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Katie Sexton was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.
Oneida always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .515 that McCreary Central posted.
Oneida is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Campbell County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.
Everything went Campbell County's way against Oneida when the teams last played back in March, as Campbell County made off with a 12-0 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
