The Auburn Mountainview Lions's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Albuquerque Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in Auburn Mountainview's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Auburn Mountainview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Lindbergh with a sharp 68-43 win on Wednesday. Given Auburn Mountainview's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Lindbergh is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Auburn Mountainview can attribute much of their success to Caleb Bowden, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, and Sebastian Arius, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Arius is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Mande Wanlemvo was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Albuquerque's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Eldorado on the road by a decisive 62-46 margin.
Auburn Mountainview pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Albuquerque, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
