The Carlin Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Coral Academy of Science - Reno 56-16. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Carlin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Urenda, who scored five points.
Ashleen Kaur was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Coral Academy of Science - Reno. Kaur is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Patel, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Carlin's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Coral Academy of Science - Reno, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Carlin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mammoth at 9:00 a.m. on December 9th. Mammoth is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Coral Academy of Science - Reno won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tournament Team at 12:45 p.m. on December 9th.
